GrrlSpot is not Just Another New Orleans Party
...We're a Movement
About
New Orleans is a City alive and rich with culture. We appreciate the good things in life and we live to celebrate them. New Orleans is one of the most welcoming cities in the country, and while LGBT friendly, it lacks spaces for the Queer community, beyond gay males. There are 16+ bars for gay men in New Orleans, but zero for the rest of us. GrrlSpot fills that void. Our notorious pop-up lesbian & queer bar is the place to be for lesbians, queers, and people of all sexual orientations and gender identities...and our allies, of course.
Eight years later, GrrlSpot has grown into an event planning and production company, producing several large-scale events each year. The most famous event is Fleurt!, a nationally renowned Southern Decadence party, has drawn over 600 people, and breaks records annually.
While we continue to grow, GrrlSpot remains true to it's roots, invading your neighborhood and asserting our queer presence in NOLA.
During the Katrina hangover, as we began trickling back into our City, the need to re-connect with lost friends and loved ones brought our Grrls together in a Mid-City dive bar on February 2nd, 2006; we were 35 strong.
